The "old" Big Red Gym was refurbished during the 2008 school year with a grant from Joseph Stern, and the gym was renamed in his honor. The gym received a new floor, 6 new backboards, 2 new scoreboards, new wall mats, new lights, and all new red seating on both sides.

The gym is utilized by the PE students and by the Frosh and girls basketball teams.
